Motong Oking: Beauty at its finest
Cabantian is one of the 19
barangay of the town Guindulman, Bohol. It is approximately reached 82 kms from
the city proper of Tagbilaran City through a van or a bus.
It is not known to everybody that
Cabantian has nice sceneries to offer to the public. There are two hills that
will leave your eyes amazed of: the Motong Oking and Kapakla. There were the
names used to call these hills by the native people of that barangay. It is
like calling a hill out from a true name of a person who owns it. Oking and
Pakla are actually names.
The last time I visited the hill was on January 2,
2015. I was with my friends. They visited me and they wanted to have fun and
enjoy our place. So I bring them to the hill. Going to the hill is actually leading
you to a cemetery and to another barangay. As we walk, we saw guavas in the
side of the road and get some of it. We take pictures; smile here, smile there.
When we are near, the combination of the fine weather and the green grass
captures a very beautiful image of the hill, with the two ”kubo” at the lower
portion. That one “kubo” is chapel-like for the “Diyos Amahan” built last year.
The other “kubo” will look like a resting place when you’re tired of walking.

We smile while having the Motong Oking as the background.

The second “kubo” next to the Diyos Amahan kubo used for relaxing.
While moving on to the hill, you can glimpse the scenic Guindulman
bay.
When you seem out of place to go,
why not go this place and relax. It’s just some few hours away. Travelling is a
good way to unwind and enjoy. You may
want to take some of your time from your busy life. Life has many things to
offer. Indeed, it is one. Enjoy!
